Be Okay

Desire is a part of being human.
Just as a flower must blossom.
Yet, I have only one wish for the genie.
More than anything;
I just want to be okay.
To wake up in the mornings;
Allow life to fill my chest with a smile.
To always be gullible for a summer daydream.
That is, if I’m not all alone.
Alone is not an option inside of me.
I was created to have adventures with another.
Forget the anxiety once upon a time.
Come take me, my friend, to the cliff side.
I would like to drop my doubts off the edge.
I would like to have sweet dreams again.
Remembering nightmares; help me smile again.
Let us be free to scream a song to the stars.
Skate the side streets of each city.
Get to know each falling snowflake.
Surf upon the farthest, largest waves.
Drive around the holes in the road.
For I truly just want to be okay.
