Poetry By, J. M. Lilin
Oh, Peter Pan, I need a friend.
I am lonely down in this unusual land.
Come down here yourself or let my dreams transcend.
Oh, Peter Pan, bring me a different life.
Too many crowds with a million words in between.
Saying them every place but never knowing what they mean.
I want to find myself on a different surface with stars so bright.
Oh, Peter Pan, arms folded, waiting far above.
I am far too old to spend my time wondering.
Far too old to have all friendships that I am imagining.
I am too old to be daydreaming at my window for your love.
Oh, Peter Pan, I have waited long enough in this land.
Come down here and behold.
Your eyes of gold.
Take me to your home – oh how wonderful – neverland.
