Flowers In My Shoes

There are flowers in my shoes.

There are flowers in my nightmares.

You don’t know what that means unless you understand.

For once in a while, we are forced to visit an unrealistic realm.

Bittersweet lullabies that whisper unspoken truths.

Stay awake with me and I will run away.

Write a poem for me and I will swallow it whole.

Chords in the clouds but there are whispers in the stars.

Finding a way to write my own life away in words.

The sun must come down once and I go down with it.

I wish my eyes were like city lights so I would not fall asleep.

There are flowers in my shoes.

There are flowers in my nightmares.

You don’t know what that means.

I am just staying awake to write away my life.

Wow, you have no idea how much that means to me. I’m still young and I have a lot coming for me and writing is very important to me. It keeps me going and to hear that you find my writing rare and just…the kind of writing you would want to read…it means a ton. Thanks so much for all your support! Cannot tell you how grateful I am enough.
