Midnight Adventure

It started with you throwing a rock at my window.

I simply assumed it was the wind until you called my name.

My heart warmed with the adventure soon to come.

A coat thrown over my shoulders.

My body is dropping out over the pane.

I hit the ground and I am running.

Galaxies are gasping with me as my feet pound over dew.

Morning sunlight has drifted far away from where I am.

This is a whole new silent spinning planet

No one around but you and I, to witness the laughter.

Screaming to the sky; screaming our names like a song.

Freedom fills our soul and we forget who we are.

The sun does not know this side of us.

Yet, the stars know the secret and solved our mystery.

We are running, we are running, we are running.

Through the gleaming wishes of night, we find the child in our heart.

We have been set free from the shackles of normality.

We have been set free on a midnight adventure.
