Do Not Hide Your Blue Skin

Inspiration Written By, J. M. Lilin

“She had blue skin, and so did he.

He kept it hid, and so did she.

They searched for blue.

Their whole life through,

Then passed right by-

And never knew.”

-Shel Sliverstein-

This is one of the most inspiring poems I have ever read. It is by far, my absolute favorite. For everyone in this world has that part of them, that is afraid to trust and is not sure whether or not they are enough.

They think that pretending to be something better than they are will help, or they find it easier to simply hide themselves behind a mask. Yet, this poem reminds us of something we forget.

We are special and there are others out there, in a similar situation who could love us, who need us, and who want us. Despite this, we do not always find them because we hide who we truly are.

Stop pretending and just be yourself because a lot of small things, an entire, complicated plan happened just for you to be created the way you are. God made you just as you are. Even your flaws because without those, you would not be who you are.

We are not all perfect because if we were all perfect, no one would be perfect and that is the point in life. To just keep doing your best because your best is perfect.

Just keep on trying for I am clarifying that you are satisfying the way you are.
